The original inhabitants of Brazil today number around 1.7 million people, belonging to almost 300 different ethnic groups, making up a total of 0.83% of the Brazilian population. Their languages, rituals and daily practices hold immense wisdom, including a respectful relationship with non-humans and an interest in everything and everyone that appears different, knowing that therein lies an important source of knowledge. For them, a world made up of replicas of themselves is a world without movement, destined to disappear. How can this small portion of our world population teach us about the importance of difference and inspire us to design a more diverse and tolerant world?
