Desired and thought of by the beloved Queen Estefânia, who died in Lisbon at the age of 22 leaving the also very young and beloved King Pedro V a widower, the construction of the Hospital de Dona Estefânia was her tribute to the memory of her wife, whom people called "the angel". Even so, Estefânia knew that the hospital would be built and that it would provide health care for many children in Lisbon.
It was also in this hospital that the seer of Fatima, now sainted, Jacinta Marto, died. This is a story of love, public health for children and young people and the Catholic faith that we will learn about on this historical and religious tour, guided by Father Carlos Azevedo and with the collaboration of Operação Nariz Vermelho.
